What is L'Space?
NASA L’SPACE (Lucy Student Pipeline Accelerator and Competency Enabler) is a virtual workforce preparation academy that provides undergraduate students with direct training from NASA personnel in mission design, proposal writing, and systems engineering.
The NPWEE (NASA Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience) Academy specifically trains students in the development and critical evaluation of NASA-style technical proposals. Participants learn the full lifecycle of proposal development, all the way from responding to a solicitation to reviewing competing proposals.
What do we do?
During My time with the academy I'm experiencing the role of Principal Investigator. My day to day includes:
Co-Authoring a full-length proposal responding to a NASA Marshall Space Flight Center solicitation, including technical justification, mission objectives, and budget justification and CAD simulations.
Joining weekly live instruction led by NASA scientists, engineers, and program managers covering NASA proposal structure, evaluation criteria, and mission design fundamentals.
Networking Subject Matter Experts from NASA research centers to consult our team on technical aspects of our technology proposal.
Scheduling meeting with and taking individual care of a team of undergraduate engineers on zoom and discord.
Chairing on a NASA review panel, scoring peer proposals using authentic NASA evaluation rubrics and delivering structured feedback.
